TTP 009 – Real World output of Digital designs
I had only an hour to spare, so this one is quick and dirty. Doing a quick overview of getting your digital model into the real world by using a 3d printer. This isn’t as easy as using a regular printer, but it is way cooler.

Printing Model Stairs with a Makerbot from Owen Collins on Vimeo.
Recently I finished assembling my MakerBot 3d Printer. Here is a quick video showing the 3d printing process. I will make a video soon about creating a file in Vectorworks that can be sent to the 3d printer.

TTP 003 – Drawing arches utilizing the SmartCursor
This covers how to use the SmartCursor to assist in the creation of architecturally correct arches. You can hear I have a bit of a cold with this one.
Everything about the arches I learned from Cobalt Studios. a great Scenic Studio that is also a school for Scenic Art.

First of all, an apology for the delay in releasing this episode. I was having difficulties with my publishing software.
This episode covers exporting a Vectorworks file into Photoshop to create a painter’s elevation. As well as isolating your elevation into different areas using the ‘Layer Mask’ option.
There are two versions of the file, a smaller size for your iPod (if you are lucky enough have one that does video). Both files are Quicktime ‘.mov’ files so all you would need the free Quicktime player from Apple to view them. If you already have iTunes installed then you should also have Quicktime. Speaking of iTunes, to can use it to keep up to date on future episodes by clicking on the iTunes link in the sidebar. That will add a subscription to this RSS Feed into iTunes and new episodes will be automatically downloaded to your computer.
I have a new microphone on order (thanks ebay!) so the audio quality will be better in future episodes.
This episode is relatively basic, if you are interested in a specific topic shoot me an email using the contact link at the bottom of the page. If you have any thoughts or advice about this episode, leave me an email at the same place with “TTP#2″ in the subject. Also let me know if a forum or comments option in the blog would be of interest to you.
