Beginning A Painter’s Elevation in Photoshop(rePost)

First of all, an apology for the delay in releasing this episode. I was having difficulties with my publishing software.

This episode covers exporting a Vectorworks file into Photoshop to create a painter’s elevation. As well as isolating your elevation into different areas using the ‘Layer Mask’ option.

There are two versions of the file, a smaller size for your iPod (if you are lucky enough have one that does video). Both files are Quicktime  ‘.mov’ files so all you would need the free Quicktime player from Apple to view them. If you already have iTunes installed then you should also have Quicktime.  Speaking of iTunes, to can use it to keep up to date on future episodes by clicking on the iTunes link in the sidebar. That will add a subscription to this RSS Feed into iTunes and new episodes will be automatically downloaded to your computer.

I have a new microphone on order (thanks ebay!) so the audio quality will be better in future episodes.

This episode is relatively basic, if you are interested in a specific topic shoot me an email using the contact link at the bottom of the page. If you have any thoughts or advice about this episode, leave me an email at the same place with “TTP#2″ in the subject.  Also let me know if a forum or comments option in the blog would be of interest to you.

(re) Introduction to the Podcast

This is the beginning of a series of podcasts that cover various areas pertaining to Technical Theatre. They explain tips and tricks of various artistic and technical skills, both digital and traditional, used in the theatre today. However they are not just for technically- or artistically-minded people. They should have a broader reach. Are they just for theatre people? I hope not. They are educational but not just for the student. The format of the individual podcast varies. Just to shake it up and keep it interesting, some are video podcasts, while others are audio files or booklet/print downloads. The format is determined by the needs of the content. Please send all encouragement and constructive criticism to the contact email at the bottom of the page . ;)

This is a repost from an earlier version of the podcast.
